Experience
I am currently working for Ocala Recycling, LLC. I have wroked there since May of 2008. Their website is
www.ocalarecycling.com.
I worked for Closetmaid for six years. Closetmaid is a subsidiary of Emerson Electric Cmpany. Closetmaid
is the shelving and organizer people. Please visit their interactive website. http://closetmaid.com
I woked at Ocala Jai-Alai from May of 1993 until September of 2001. Ocala Jai-Alai is a part of the gambling industry. They
have a short live season, normally three months long. They also simulcast other jai-alai as well as thouroughbred horse
racing, greyhound racing, and the trotters. For those of you unfamiliar with jai-alai, it is the game that is seen being played
in the opening credits for the old series "MIAMI VICE". It is a fascinating game to watch, very fast paced and the players
are highly skilled. They have to be when you consider that they are catching a very hard ball that is coming at them at speeds
up to 180 MPH. I started out as a ticket seller and worked my way up to Mutuels Manager. I was in charge of all ticket
sellers as well as overseeing the money room and being responsible for all necessary paperwork required by the State of Florida.
It is an interesting job and I meet a lot of interesting people. My oldest daughter, Stephanie, worked part time in the office
while she finished high school. It was very nice working there with her. If you are ever in the Ocala-Gainesville,
FL area, please stop in and say hello. Please visit them on the web at www.ocalajaialai.com.
Prior to working at Ocala Jai-Alai and also while working there, I worked for Zodiac Custom Printing. Zodiac was a family-owned
custom screenprinting business. They printed t-shirts, caps, jackets, coffee mugs, etc. I worked there from May of 1988 until
December 1999. I was the primary printer and shop foreman. A big hello to Joe, Donnie, Mae, and Grace!!!!!
At one time, I worked three different jobs. I worked for Ocala Jai-Alai, Zodiac Custom Printing and I also worked for EFM
Group. I was a part time bookkeeper for this engineering and consulting firm from March 1995 until they converted to a virtual
office in 1999. This job offered me the chance to utilize my accounting skills. Take care Jerry!
